Privacy Policy

PromptUp ("we", "our", "us") is a browser extension that enhances prompts for AI tools. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

Prompt text: When you click the PromptUp button, your prompt text is sent to our server for enhancement. We do not store your prompts after processing. Prompts are sent to Anthropic's API for enhancement and are subject to Anthropic's privacy policy.

Account data: If you create an account, we store your email address, subscription tier, and usage count (number of enhancements per day). We use magic link authentication — we never see or store passwords.

Payment data: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers. We only store a Stripe customer ID to manage your subscription. See Stripe's privacy policy.

Usage data: We track how many prompt enhancements you use per day to enforce tier limits. We do not track which websites you visit or any browsing activity beyond the AI tools where PromptUp is active.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect browsing history
• We do not collect data from websites other than ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini
• We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for advertising
• We do not store your prompt text after enhancement
• We do not use cookies for tracking

3. How We Use Your Data

• To enhance your prompts when you click the PromptUp button
• To authenticate your account via magic link emails
• To enforce daily usage limits based on your subscription tier
• To process subscription payments through Stripe

4. Data Storage & Security

Account data is stored in a Cloudflare D1 database. All communication between the extension and our servers uses HTTPS encryption. API keys and secrets are stored as encrypted environment variables.

5. Third-Party Services

• Anthropic — processes prompt enhancements via their Claude API
• Stripe — processes payments for paid subscriptions
• Resend — sends magic link authentication emails
• Cloudflare — hosts our API and database

6. Your Rights

You can:

• Delete your account by contacting us at support@getpromptup.com
• Cancel your subscription at any time through the dashboard
• Uninstall the extension at any time to stop all data collection

7. Host Permissions

PromptUp requests access to chatgpt.com, claude.ai, and gemini.google.com. This is solely to inject the enhancement button next to the prompt input field. The extension does not read or collect any data from these sites beyond the prompt text you explicitly choose to enhance.

8. Data Retention

Prompt text is processed in real-time and discarded immediately after enhancement — we do not retain it. Account data (email, subscription tier, usage counts) is retained for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.

9. Chrome Web Store User Data Policy Compliance

PromptUp's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

• We only use data for the extension's single stated purpose: enhancing prompts
• We do not transfer data for advertising, marketing, or to data brokers
• We do not sell user data
• We do not use data for purposes unrelated to the extension's core functionality

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
